streamlined and versatile MIDI controller for Ableton integration
Define "Streamlined?" This little toy fits that definition. Very fast and versatile. I chain MIDI it to Ableton to cover the "Sends" and "Master" channel strips.

On both sides of his mixer you can see Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 controllers.
At 3:53 , we can see Gareth playing his set with two Kontrol X1s on Traktor while using a DJM-900 mixer.
Felix Da Housecat's DJ setup revolves around Traktor, a Pioneer DJM-900 mixer, and two Traktor Kontrol X1's. In a video for Native Instruments, he says:
"I always use 4 decks, each of these babies controls 2 decks." He likes that fact that using Traktor, he can produce remixes and edits on the fly with the touch of a button, without having to have everything ready beforehand.
"Sometimes I have tracks I haven't prepared and they might need a little nudge or they might go off a bit in the mix, that's where the touch strip comes in... a couple flicks with my finger, and we're locked in."
He talks about how easy it is to browse through tracks on his laptop with touch sensitive browsing. Regarding loops, he likes to use the "touch strip to control loop size, and jump between them."
On hot cues: "I have the flux mode button remapped to give me 2 pages of hot cues... I like to have the juicy moments ready at my fingertips."
Effects: "If i really wanna get crazy, the X1 allows me to assign 4 effects per deck. I can even control effects on the strip."
It is clearly shown in the middle of his setup in this picture that he posted on Instagram.
Dubfire's X1 can be seen in the thumbnail as well as at the 2:01 mark of his video detailing how he performs.
"Native Instruments Kontrol X1 (2) and Kontrol X1 MK2 as back up. I remapped my X1s to fit the way I play; I can do it blindfolded when I’m on, from beat jumps, loop functions and cue points. I normally use Deck C for effects and have all 3 decks running together which I full control from my X1s. I’m a loop freak, if I can have 6 decks looping at some point i can be happy. I also mapped the CDJs which I connect to Traktor on HID mode to give me the same functions as my controllers, sometimes it’s easier to reach them when I’m browsing through my library," says Nicole, in this article.
In this video MK explains how he switched from the Native Instruments Traktor S4 to the Traktor X1 Mk2 (1:10).
He says: "When I first started to learn to DJ, was using the S4 and it was just easier for me, being a new DJ, to grasp everything. And then the X1 came out and I bought two of them, actually. And I started using those and then I started to figure how to use those with other DJ equipment and that kind of worked perfectly. And then when the MK2 came out, I was like, "It got even better." With the touchstrip you can do effects live, you can do loops live... It just made it a lot easier."
