Good Beginner's Item, and Not Much Else
I was already an avid piano player when I decided to pick this up from Goodwill for $30 so I could practice privately in my room. It's a good learning tool, but that's it. It's got over 200 tones but none of them sound very good (which is a given seeing how this keyboard is clearly meant for beginners). There's a sing along function that I never use and you can plug in a sustain pedal. You can also connect it to a television set with a special composite cable, but mine didn't come with the cable so I never tried this. It does, however, have USB MIDI functionality, but it's a pain to set up on a modern computer. When I'm not practicing on it, I pretty much use this keyboard as a MIDI controller. There's also a bunch of songs on it that you can learn (but I never do). Also, the keys light up.
Overall, if you want a cheap keyboard to practice on or if you need a cheap MIDI controller (and if you are computer-literate enough to get it set up correctly), this is a good option. It's also a good toy for your kids if they want to learn piano. I wouldn't use this on any studio recordings (unless you're really creative).
