Description

Unleash the full potential of your modular synthesizer setup with the DIY Ripples, a homage to the legendary Mutable Instruments Ripples. This kit is perfect for both novice and seasoned DIY enthusiasts, offering a seamless blend of flexibility and rich tonal character. Dive into the world of subtractive synthesis with its fully analog design, powered by the SSM2164 low noise/distortion quad VCA chip and LM13700 OTA, ensuring you achieve that classic warmth and subtle non-linearity in your sound.

The DIY Ripples kit includes everything you need for assembly: Eurorack panel, a limited edition PCB, premium Rogan knobs, Alps potentiometers, mounting hardware, and a power cable. No more worries about losing small parts—extras are included for the 0603, 0805, and 1206 packages.

Experiment with three distinct filter modes: 2-pole band-pass, 2-pole low-pass, and 4-pole low-pass. Each mode supports self-oscillation, delivering a clean sine-wave via the LP4 output without the typical "loudness drop" encountered in classic 4-pole designs. The resonance loudness compensation circuit adds a unique tone coloration, reminiscent of the iconic Roland SH/Jupiter filters, producing a smooth and "liquid" resonance. Perfect for space-constrained setups, the 4-pole low-pass output is also routed through a VCA, making this module an ideal final stage for your synth voice.

Key Features:

  • Three filter modes: 2-pole band-pass, 2-pole low-pass, and 4-pole low-pass
  • Self-oscillation for all modes
  • Resonance loudness compensation circuit
  • Cutoff frequency range: 18Hz to 18kHz
  • Includes all components, mounting hardware, and power cable
  • Extra SMT parts provided for 0603, 0805, and 1206 packages
  • Fully analog with SSM2164 VCA chip and LM13700 OTA
  • Open-source hardware design
  • Produced by synthCube with creative commons licensing
