Description

Dive into the world of distortion like never before with the D16 Group Devastor 2, a powerful multiband distortion plugin from the esteemed SilverLine Collection. This plugin is a reimagined version of the classic distortion unit found in Phoscyon, now featuring full multiband processing capabilities to elevate your sound design to new heights. With Devastor 2, you have the freedom to manipulate and morph your audio in ways that were previously unimaginable.

The plugin is expertly crafted with four primary components: a dynamics-flattener module, a diode-clipper distortion, three versatile multi-mode filter sections, and an optional signal limiter. These elements work together to provide a rich and detailed sound, whether you're looking to create a gritty guitar fuzz or add subtle warmth to a delicate synth line. Devastor 2's analogue-modelled filters are akin to those in classic synthesizers, offering low pass, high pass, bandpass, and band reject options with adjustable resonance and cutoff, ensuring a unique and dynamic sound profile.

Designed for versatility, Devastor 2 is ideal for a plethora of applications—be it dirtying up your drum tracks, enhancing the textural elements of electronic synths, or subtly refining the character of a gentle melody. Its advanced antialiasing techniques ensure a warm, musical output devoid of the harshness typically associated with digital distortion.

Review: Devastor 2 Multiband Distortion Plugin by D16 Group

producerspot.com

D16 Group's Devastor 2 is praised for its versatile multiband distortion capabilities, offering musicians a robust array of options to shape and manipulate sound with its diode clipper and flexible signal routing. The inclusion of refined filters and an effective limiter adds to its appeal, making it a powerful tool for both subtle and aggressive sound design. While the interface may lack flashiness, the plugin's quality processing modes and comprehensive preset options more than compensate. The review highlights its suitability for a range of audio tasks, though a slightly underwhelming limiter control prevents it from being flawless.

My new Go-To for saturation

This thing is awesome. The name suggests it would be fine for slayer, megadeth, metallica etc......but it can also be subtle. I find it has just the right amount of bite to give everything this very musically pleasing warm fuzzy crispy edge. You can shred with it too, but for me it's all about the rich harmonics it can add to a synth to make it a lot less linear and more analog. I've demo'd a lot of saturators, and i'd say between this and Fabfilter's Saturn 2, all the bases are covered. I'm in love with the sound of this thing. Props to D16 for this little beauty !!
