In this 2013 interview, Skrillex says at 1:56 "I use Trash and Ohmicide as well." and at 2:04 he says "The new trash is even crazier." (iZotope Trash 2) If Skrillex says that iZotope Trash 2 is "even crazier" , this would imply that he has used the original iZotope Trash.
He also deployed the use of the previously PC-only Trash plug-in extensively for “With Teeth.” “But don’t even try using Trash on a Mac without saving your song first,” he cautions.
Used on Timbaland's vocals for Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack", as stated by mix engineer Jimmy Douglass in this July 2007 Sound on Sound interview.
Lead vocals: Universal Audio 1176, MXR flanger, Izotope *Trash*
"The signal chain for Justin's vocals was an Audio-Technica 4060 mic, into a Presonus ADL600 mic pre, and then a Universal Audio 1176 limiter. I normally use the U87 for recording vocals, but I was curious about the AT and I had both mics in front of Justin. The effects I used on his vocals seemed to work better with the AT. I used the U87 on Timbaland's vocals and went straight into the desk. I like using the Neve VR mic pre. It's a little crunchy, it's not quite the 1072 or 1073, but it works.
"Justin then said 'Man, can you put some effect on the vocal? Something crazy, like a distorted kind of thing?' So I put the Trash plug-in on [Izotope's distortion, filter, delay and amplifier modelling plug-in]. I just happened to have it. To give you my exact settings would be silly. But I'll give you one clue: it wasn't something that I worked really hard to get. Just by using the plug-in the setting almost came up.
"The Trash plug-in wasn't the only thing I used on the lead vocals. I also had an outboard MXR flanger on it. Plus there was an outboard compressor, the Urei 1176. I used the same three effects on Timbaland's vocals, just less than on Justin's. But you can hear the flanger and compressor acting in the spaces, like just before Justin sings 'dirty baby'. There's no hiding it, and it creates a whole other dimension of sound."
Arca is quoted endorsing Trash on iZotope's website:
Trash is by far one of my favorite plugins for years now, and the new one has a ‘scream’ variable parameter which is great with an LFO.

Ozone, Trash and Spectron totally rock. When I sat down to do songs with [producer] Atticus [Ross], we used them a lot and they worked out great for us.
"I record drums here at my house, in a very lo-fi set-up; I literally have a mono mic sitting in the hallway by the bathroom downstairs here, and it sounds pretty roomy, pretty trashy, but it sounds good. I further mangle things by taking the drum buss and running it through iZotope Trash, and I crunch it out and make it sound even weirder—perhaps all muffled and lo-fi, or I might accentuate the crazy top-end, so you just hear the snare and cymbals ripping through the speakers."
In this interview with Guitar World magazine, Andy discusses how he eschewed live amplifiers for the recording of Gang of Four's album What Happens Next.
"This bass sound... is going through an instance of Izotope Trash which I use quite a lot... and on the Trash page, which is where you control the distortion on the sound, you can split it into a multiband..." (13:44) In this instance, he is using Trash 1, as the interface does not match the design for the current version, Trash 2.
In this video at 10:49 René from Black Sun Empire mentions how "boring and low in volume" a sound is, so he uses Trash 2 to "crank that".
