Description
Epiphone EB-0 Bass: Compact Powerhouse with Iconic Style
With its roots firmly planted in the legendary SG design, the Epiphone EB-0 Bass is a scaled-down bass guitar that offers a powerful punch in a compact package. This instrument is incredibly accessible, designed to fit comfortably in the hands of players of all shapes and sizes.
The single SideWinder humbucker delivers a warm, vintage tone that can truly cut through the mix. You can roll off the tone for a vintage thump or crank it up for an aggressive rock growl. This bass is not only versatile but also inspires you to play everything from classic rock to grunge.
The EB-0 features a fast set mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard for comfortable playability. The shorter 30.5" scale is ideal for smaller hands and less stretch, making it effortless to play. The defined dot inlays guide you across the fretboard with ease.
Despite its smaller size, the EB-0 bass is highly portable and perfect for practice, recording, or gigging. It's a testament to Epiphone's commitment to providing real SG tone and looks in an affordable package.

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Epiphone EB-0 Bass.
Features and functionality
-
The EB-0 delivers a singular, heavy "tubby" tone that suits 60s-style rock, but lacks versatility for other genres like blues.
Source -
The EB-0's bridge is challenging to adjust, frequently loosening without string tension, and contributes to poor sustain and intonation issues.
Source -
Short scale and lower string tension make it easier to play, despite divisive tone preferences.

User experience
-
Owners frequently report problematic neck dive, affecting playability and balance during use.
Source -
The short scale and lightweight design make it comfortable for extended play, but significant neck dive requires a wide strap with suede lining to mitigate balance issues.
Source -
Some owners find it manageable for extended play despite neck dive, using it for practice and backup.

my workhorse bass
I use this as my main bass for 1 Ton Honey Jar and my other band (with actual other humans, not just me on every instrument) Children Of The Mud, which has not released anything but we are just starting to write music, but more of that coming (I hope). I 100% recommend it for such a classic bass for such a good price.

Just in case..
Just in case I want to jump on bass guitar, or record a super distorted groovy low-end part, this ebony EB-0 takes care of the job. Curtis Novak pickup, as well as Emerson pots and oil caps make it sound like a much much better instrument.

Great fun
Use my EB-0 more like a rhythm guitar, light strings etc, as it feels more like a guitar than a bass.
