Evolution Synthesis EVS1 (MT Nov 90)

muzines.co.uk

The Evolution EVS1 synthesizer expander is a powerful addition for musicians seeking digital flexibility without breaking the bank. Its ability to mix various synthesis methods in a compact design is impressive, and the onboard sounds offer a solid range, especially for the price. However, the reliance on external software for sound editing can be cumbersome, and the manual lacks clarity, making it challenging for beginners. While the synth shines with rich, analog-like tones, it falls short in recreating realistic acoustic sounds. Ultimately, if you're willing to invest the time to learn its intricacies, the EVS1 can be a great budget-friendly option for expanding your sonic palette.
