Kaossilator Pro Plus is a fantastic non-keyboard synthesizer and looper.
What I love about this Korg Kaossilator Pro Plus is that it's not a keyboard. Some of the early electronic music pioneers flatly rejected keyboards as antiquated shackles. They demanded new interfaces and new ways of generating sounds.
For centuries, humans used the same old acoustic musical instruments. Beating, plucking, and blowing were the main way to generate desired tones and percussion.
The symphonic orchestras, marching bands, and pop ensembles got stuck in specific instrument configurations. Drums, violins, guitars, flutes are ancient instruments.
The last new instrument invented prior to tape manipulations and synthesizers was the saxophone.
Making music by rubbing your fingers on a screen and punching pads is an innovation.
Ribbon controllers are becoming very popular and exciting in new electronic music instruments. In fact, a ribbon or touch pad controller of sounds can make anyone sound like a virtuoso instantly.
It's good to have easier to use machines to accompany your more difficult, complex instruments. I decided on this product, which I owned several years ago, over the Ciat-Lombarde Tocante ZENERT, the Korg Electribe, the Casio XW-PD1, the Casio XW-G1 Groove Synthesizer, Make Noise RENE, Lastgasp Art Laboratories Multi Noise Processor 2, and the Knas Ekdahl Moisturizer -- all of which will be purchased eventually.
This dynamic phrase synthesizer and loop recorder will be my most musical device ever.

great for looping but a little bit too expensive
I use it for live looping of other instrument. Has a two or three fine effects. Not so great value for money.
