In this photo from Kevin Parker's interview with Audio Technology about Currents in 2017, a JV-1010 can be seen behind a book on Kevin's desk, to the left of the laptop.
What was your entry point into hardware?
"My first bit of gear was a Roland JV-1010 sound module. I used to hammer the hell out of that. Then, when I was about 12 or 13 I got a Korg MS2000 and started to learn a bit about synthesis. I loved the sounds and the vocoder in it. It's actually quite a complex synth, it's not straightforward like a Juno-106, and I used to get the most amazing sounds out of it.
Jens Johansson is confirmed to use the Roland JV-1010 sound module, as evidenced by a photograph he posted on his website in 2002, showcasing his equipment during the Elements recording sessions. The image clearly displays the Roland JV-1010 among other devices such as the Apogee Rosetta AD A/D converter and Roland JV-2080, further substantiating its use in his setup. This information is supported by the source titled "Jens Johansson's gear."
Stargate's work is almost entirely 'in the box', but they keep a few rackmounting synths and samplers around. According to a list of equipment which is used in his studio, Crowdspacer, Joakim is also a user of Roland JV-1010.
Stated in this interview.
Yes! I have a rack that holds all the electronics (Alesis M12 Mixer, ElectroVoice EV1000 Wireless, Roland G1-10 Midi Interface, Roland JV1010, DigiTech GSP2101 Processor, Alesis Midi-Verb and the AB Power Amplifier) and my two Epifani Speaker Cabinets, which reproduce the sound. I plug my instruments (Azola Upright Bass, Chapman Stick, Washburn Bass Guitar, and Modulus Bass) into the mixer then get a balance of tone and volume on each so no matter which one I pick up it's ready to go, and with the right sound. There are also times when I play locally and it's my basic club set-up with two Ampeg B-1 combo amps that run at 4 ohms in a stereo configuration using a Korg AX-30B pedal.
