Before joining the Ramones, Johnny Ramone played bass in a band called The Tangerine Puppets, where he used a Framus 5/150 Star Bass. This is documented in the story "RAMONES: RICHARD ADLER'S TELL STORY OF THE '60s" on Ramonesheaven, which includes one of the few existing photos of him during this early period.
Alex James was seen playing a Framus 5/150 Star Bass during a benefit event at the Whitechapel Art Gallery in 2006.
