Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Framus WH 1 Artist Series.

Features and functionality

  • The Framus WH-1 Artist Series includes a German-made Floyd Rose Original, noted for its superior tuning stability and wide pitch range compared to lower-end versions.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • Restringing a Floyd Rose on the Framus takes significantly longer than a hardtail, with some users noting up to an hour to change strings.

    Source

User experience

  • Users highlight that the double-locking system of the Floyd Rose ensures minimal tuning instability, as strings are locked at both the bridge and nut.

    Source
  • Some players express frustration that the Framus WH-1 does not ship to Germany, limiting accessibility for European customers wanting this specific model.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The Framus WH-1 Artist Series is suggested as a better value than similarly priced models made in China, like certain Epiphone models, due to its features and build quality.

    Source
  • The Framus WH-1 stands out among classic Vs because Gibson generally does not offer Floyd Rose bridges, making it a unique choice for players desiring both features.

    Source
  • While low-end Jackson models like the JS32 King V include licensed Floyd Rose bridges, they are not as high quality as the Framus WH-1's German-made Floyd Rose.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The Framus WH-1 is one of the few options for players seeking a "classic" Flying V aesthetic with a Floyd Rose, ideal for metal genres demanding both.

    Source

Mods and upgrades

  • For those unable to purchase a Framus WH-1, routing a standard Gibson Flying V for a Floyd Rose is a suggested alternative to achieve similar functionality.

"Well, I’m sponsored by Framus, so the majority of what I use are those: Pantera models and V models. They’re all very customised to what I like them to be. I have two V's, Maple bodies, Maple neck and Ebony fingerboards. I have one with a Floyd Rose, but I keep that for studio work. I don’t take that on the road. The Pantera looks like, I don’t know, battered tin!"

In this instagram photo, he shows off a custom WH-1 sent to him

"Don’t get too excited, this isn’t one of the custom shop guitars from @framusguitarsofficial BUT because they’re such a lovely bunch of people, they sent me this production line WH-1 which I’ve customised to my own spec and I’ll be bringing it on tour as my main guitar until the new ones are ready.

Pickups are @dimarzioinc Super 3 in the bridge and a Air Norton S in the neck, these were spares from the custom guitars so the colour scheme is totally unintentional but I love how it’s turned out! Sounds and plays absolutely awesome, can’t wait to get it out on the road. 🚌

The custom Knights of Crail coat of arms was designed by the wonderful @materialdarkness, doesn’t it look absolutely rad? The minimum order for these stickers was 50 so I’ve got a few more going spare 👀 "
