Description
Discover the dynamic versatility of the Godin Shifter Classic 5 Bass, a standout instrument in the realm of electric bass guitars. Designed for musicians who crave tonal diversity without compromising on playability, this bass is engineered to meet the demands of both studio sessions and live performances.
At the heart of the Shifter Classic 5 is its Godin Passive PJ Pickup configuration, providing a wide spectrum of sonic possibilities. Whether you're looking for the punchy growl of a J-style bridge pickup or the warm, round tones of a P-style neck pickup, this bass delivers with precision. The body is crafted from Canadian Laurentian Basswood, known for its lightweight feel and balanced resonance, making extended playing sessions a breeze.
The maple neck, paired with a rosewood fingerboard, offers a smooth playing surface and a comfortable grip, ideal for both intricate fingerwork and aggressive slap techniques. The 5-string setup extends your range, offering deeper notes and opening up new musical horizons. The high-ratio tuning machines ensure stable tuning, so you can focus on your performance without worrying about drift.

A lovely neck, but the electronics are vexing me
I put beefier string on it to reduce the flapping of the low B string. It plays nice, but one of the pots died on it and needs to be replaced (again). I use it in conjunction with the Baritone Tele for those songs I need to drop down into a singable range
