Description
The Vintage K300 by Kay
The Kay K-300 is a rare American-made vintage electric guitar produced by the Kay Musical Instrument Company in Chicago during the early to mid-1960s. Designed as one of Kay's higher-end solid-body models, it features a distinctive double-cutaway shape, striking maple construction, and unique pickup designs that give it a warm, punchy tone with plenty of vintage character. The guitar became popular among garage rock, blues, and early rock players due to its unusual styling and expressive sound. Many examples were fitted with sought-after DeArmond "Speed Bump" single-coil pickups, which are known for their clear, dynamic response. Today, the K-300 is appreciated by collectors and musicians looking for an authentic 1960s American guitar with a sound and appearance that stand apart from more common Fender and Gibson models.
