Description

The Pacer Special was part of the original “Pacer” Series of the early 1980s by Kramer.

It is a Strat-style, double-cutaway solid-body guitar, but simplified to a single humbucker pickup , aimed at delivering a straightforward, high-output rock/hard-rock sound with the added benefit of a locking tremolo for dive-bombs and pitch effects.
The “Special” differs from the basic “Standard” mainly by including a locking tremolo (originally from providers like ESP or Rockinger, later often a Floyd Rose) , giving more tuning stability under heavy tremolo use.

Specs:

• Strings: 6 strings
• Body style: Strat-style double-cutaway Solid Body • Neck: Bolt-on neck, Maple
• Fingerboard: Maple fingerboard with dot inlays (original Pacers used maple boards; rosewood also appeared later per some sources)
• Frets: 22 Frets
• Scale length: 25.5″ (≈ 648 mm) , typical for Kramer Pacers.
• Pickup configuration: Single humbucker (bridge position) • Pickups configuration 1 humbucker pickup
• Pickup selector controls 3-way selector switch
• Controls: 1 Volume knob, 1 Tone knob, 3-way selector switch
• Bridge Floyd Rose locking tremolo, locking tremolo
• Input and output jack type front mounted jack
