LTD H-250 Review: I've been playing guitar for about 5 years now; again, I... | ESP | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The ESP LTD H-250 offers impressive versatility at a budget-friendly price, making it a solid choice for metal enthusiasts and those who dabble in various genres. Its sound is clear and crisp across multiple tunings, outshining some competitors in detuned and clean play. However, the coil-tap feature is a disappointment, as it significantly reduces the volume and bite. Despite this flaw, the guitar's durability and reliability make it a dependable option for live performances. While it's not without its setbacks, for $200, the H-250 provides a steal for those willing to overlook the minor flaws.

Brilliant guitar for the price, stock pickups could be better

I fell in love with this guitar back in college when I first picked it up and felt the neck. I still love how the heel is contoured so perfectly that you can glide right up to the end of the fretboard without having to navigate around a heel at all.

The set up has always been great, although it takes a while to get used to the extra jumbo frets. It looks amazing, both the top pattern and the colour, and the whole guitar just feels amazingly comfortable to hold and play.

Pickups are great for an intermediate player looking in this price range, Duncan Designed humbuckers modelled on the Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz set I believe. They could've installed something a little nicer, but they suit the guitar and are still a great standard in this price range.

Overall an excellent guitar for under £500 and served me very well for the best part of 2 years before getting more money..

Great Performer! Well Balanced and Rock Solid Tuning.

Picked this up at a Pawn Shop for $167 and it was a fabulous find. Spent about an hour cleaning it up and putting some fresh 9's on it and Viola! This Baby Sings! The Duncan Design Pickups split coils, using the tone pull pot which makes for ultra useful tone creations. The flame top came alive after I hit the top with a bit of wax. I refreshed the fret board with some Lemon oil and the richness of the rosewood jumped out. The XJ frets are a bit of a clumpy fret size to become accustomed to, but they are spot on for string bending. Fairly lightweight I can wear this Axe around my neck for hours without a hint of discomfort. Probably only around 7 lbs. BEST of ALL...the tuning on this is Superior to models of similar cost. It's a joy to begin playing leads and then come back into the rhythm chords and still be perfectly in tune. A real Keeper!!! Only flaw is that on the B string one spot at about the 17th fret, frets out and the note is dampened.
