Description
The Mj-Five2 STD by Momose handcrafted in Japan
The Momose MJ-Five2 STD is a high-quality, handcrafted 5-string Jazz-style bass made in Japan by Momose’s Aska workshop. It follows a traditional design but incorporates modern refinements for improved playability and balance, especially in higher fret access. The ash body and maple neck combination delivers a tight, punchy low end with clear articulation, making it suitable for a wide range of genres. Equipped with Momose’s original VJ-5 pickups, it produces a versatile, natural tone with strong lows and bright highs. Its passive electronics keep the sound organic and responsive to playing dynamics. Overall, it represents premium Japanese craftsmanship with attention to detail in both build and tone.

Amazing quality handmade bass
Amazing bass guitar with amazing sound of a classic Jazz Bass. Main drawback is the neck dive. I don't know if the Modern Virtuoso series has a similar problem, but the Original does. The neck is very thin and very comfortable, very similar to the Ibanez SR neck. The strings are very low and very comfortable to play. The bass guitar comes with a branded case and it is the best case I have ever had.
