I've had mine for 15 years and it's as solid as a rock

Bought mine new at a Houston area Guitar Center. Mine is in Crimson Red Transparent with noiseless pickups and a three band active preamp. It is smaller than the standard size Jazz bass body which makes it more sleek in my opinion. The bass is very responsive to the touch, has a great feel, and many tones can be dialed in via the pre amp.

Nickname(s): Masaya-kun, then changed to Yuusuke-kun. This bass guitar has been used ever since the band's major label debut, and has been one of few basses that has been used regularly for such a long time frame. Candy Apple Red with a rosewood fretboard, black pearloid pickguard, and white racing stripes. There was some discussion about whether the stripe is a decal/sticker or it was painted on, but, due to the glossiness of the stripe, it has been agreed that it is indeed part of the paint job. The neck has been customized to be slightly smaller so that it is easier for TOMOMI to play those groovy bass lines. In 2013, she had this bass sent off for some upgrades. It now sports a passive pickup arrangement with 3 knobs. -SCANDAL HEAVEN

You get nice crispy slap tones and fingertone, or if I am going for more of an old school sound, a 60s [Fender] P bass.”"
