Audio Imperia Nucleus

soundonsound.com

Nucleus delivers a streamlined orchestral experience with its well-curated selection of instruments, quick-loading patches, and an intuitive interface that appeals to both novices and seasoned composers. The library excels particularly in strings and woodwinds, showcasing delightful articulations and vibrant sound. However, it stumbles with a thin-sounding solo violin and limited articulations might leave some users wanting more depth. Overall, Nucleus strikes an impressive balance between functionality and sound quality, making it a solid choice for cinematic productions, despite a few minor shortcomings.

Audio Imperia Nucleus: The Orchestral Core Review

musictech.com

Audio Imperia's Nucleus delivers a compelling orchestral experience at an accessible price. With a sleek interface and low CPU usage, it's user-friendly for both newcomers and seasoned composers. The library boasts a broad selection of instruments, including solo patches and a robust percussion section, all produced with impressive sonic quality. However, some limitations exist, such as fewer articulations for certain instruments and reliance on single per-note samples. While the modern sound may not suit every taste, the classic mode offers a refreshing alternative. Overall, Nucleus stands out for its extensive content and workflow-friendly features, making it a strong contender for any composer looking to dive into orchestral scoring without breaking the bank.

Amazing sounds, but disappointing pitch ranges

Love the quality of this library, but once I purchased it and tried it out with an 88 key keyboard it quickly became apparent that the scope is limited to some extent. Many instruments are confined to ranges stretching from a lower C to a higher C, without taking into account any additional range the instrument would usually have beyond the highest and lowest available notes in this library. Additionally, there's not a lot of instruments for an orchestral composer, but it covers the basics nicely for anyone wanting a simple high quality orchestral library.
