Description

Developed, designed, tweaked, and tested over the course of many years, the Redland Reverb Combo is a unique design that is aimed directly at the extended American palette of tones. It has an entirely unique tone stack that draws inspiration from sounds as varied as Dumble and Peavey. We sought to bring the touch sensitivity and FEEL of the Benson brand to preamp types that are cleaner in essence but can sound big and fat and juicy when you dig in.

The VOLUME, WATTAGE and REVERB CONTROLS are pretty standard Benson fare. The BASS and TREBLE controls are where the rubber meets the road so to speak.

BASS moves a sizable scoop up and down the frequency spectrum...starting at 100HZ and ending around 1K. This essentially cuts bass at the lowest setting, and ends up cutting into the treble at the highest setting. It might seem strange, and it is, but the results need to be experienced to be properly understood as being VERY versatile in tandem with the special treble control....more versatile than your average Treble-Middle-Bass tone stack...with this you can pick the frequency points to feature and conversely what to cut.

It just ends up sounding very BIG.

TREBLE is a treble roll off, but instead of the typical 6db/ octave slope found in most guitar amps, it is 12db/octave....much steeper...with eq points selected with great care for guitar.

This is the heart of the Redland...the Redland EQ. We’ve also incorporated a small amount of global negative feedback to slow the response envelope of the amp to bring some extra fattness to the feel and response.

The Redland 15 comes with 6V6 tubes, and the Redland 35 comes with 6L6 tubes, both of which can go from crystalline clean and beautiful to midrangey and aggressive with a twist of the knob.
