Hofner & P&J Bass Merge in Mid-Scale Splendor - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

Rivolta's Combinata Bass VII seamlessly blends classic P and J bass tones with modern versatility, boasting a comfortable neck and striking aesthetics. However, its neck-heavy design may pose challenges for some players, and the unavoidable 60-cycle hum can be distracting. Priced at $1,099, this bass offers tremendous value for musicians seeking a unique instrument that covers various genres while maintaining an appealing vintage vibe.

The Rivolta Combinata Bass VII | Vintage Guitar® magazine

vintageguitar.com

The Rivolta Combinata Bass VII blends vintage charm with modern playability, featuring a sleek design and a fast neck that invites creativity. Its unique tonal character captures the essence of classic bass sounds while offering a punchy midrange that many players will appreciate. However, the single-coil pickups come with a downside: noticeable hum when fully blended. Additionally, the bridge cover might hinder some playing styles. Overall, the Combinata VII stands out with its retro aesthetics and versatility, making it a compelling choice for bassists seeking both style and substance.
