Works on small guitars, and definitely works for Banjo!
I played banjo very briefly in a band and didn't even have my own instrument. I was asked to join the band to take over Banjo from the lead singer so he could play guitar and sing more easily. I was asked to do so because of my ability to fingerpick the guitar, so my banjo chops are nothing to write home about, but I did find that I wanted to capo the banjo and enjoyed using this to do it! When I parted ways with that group I held onto the hardware that I had purchased for my position and that included this capo. I have since used it as backup for my smaller electric guitars and it works fine! I rate it just behind my Kyser capos (which I love and have reviewed elsewhere) because this capo is quite consistent and I enjoy the mechanism it employs vs your standard spring tension guitar capo! I will put this capo on a guitar and keep it tightened down if I know I am going to play multiple songs in a particular capo or if I am using a particularly strange capo tuning. Keeping it tightened down lets me feel secure grabbing the guitar and going!
