Waves Grand Rhapsody Piano Review - HomeStudioToday

homestudiotoday.com

The Waves Grand Rhapsody Piano impresses with its stunningly realistic samples, making it a top choice for those prioritizing sound quality on a budget. However, the experience is marred by usability issues, including long load times and several bugs that detract from its overall functionality. While the mic options and tone controls are commendable, the absence of stereo separation and problematic velocity settings leave room for improvement. Despite its potential, the plugin's execution falls short, earning it a tentative recommendation pending updates to address these flaws.

Waves Grand Rhapsody Piano is a beautifully crafted virtual instrument, capturing the essence of the iconic Fazioli F228 from London’s Metropolis Studio. With its recognizable and distinctive sound, it offers both a 14 GB full download and a more compact 6 GB version, ensuring accessibility for all users. The ability to manipulate sustain pedal settings and mix various microphone arrays adds versatility and depth. While the download size might be daunting, the affordable price and professional sound quality make it a noteworthy addition to any music producer's toolkit.

Nice sounds, but heavy library

This library functions well and it is extremely customisable. The samples are extremely large and take a long time to load, but they don’t sound particularly remarkable compared with other libraries I’ve tried. Would recommend for the price if you like the timbral qualities of the samples.
