Quick Technical Amp Q

Odd... It was just two pedals.

You know, I've been thinking lately about these pedals and I think I might start selling a few. I already decided that damned Melo-Verb needs to go as well as the HT-Dual. I'm thinking maybe one low-gain overdrive (Walrus Audio Messner), Ernie Ball MVP, same delay I have, and probably replace the old Digitech 'verb with something more... Singular, I guess. I find myself always defaulting to the plate mode and the sound is alright, but a change of sound would be nice.

Quick Technical Amp Q

Was doing some messing around when I found out I accidentally borrowed a friend's boost pedal. That plus another boost and light drive later... Glorious fuzzy break up.

Anyways, something odd occurred. I turned down all the controls on my tremolo except the volume which I peaked, so it basically boost. I got the EHX boost peaked as well before the trem. Added some reverb and played. However, when I stop suddenly, the reverb AND the low hum dissapear fpr a second and a half before returning.

Doesn't seem like a problem, but I'm curious what's going on.

Subscribed. Maybe If I take all the allotted courses on the side, the school will allow me to join the band for a bit. Reverb.com seems to have a few 90's Sheraton. I think my favourite on the list is the '90 with the tobacco sunburst (purely aesthetic-wise).

OH, I love Khan! Used to use that a lot back in highschool. I think they also had a few courses regarding code and such, pretty interesting stuff. Really fed some old hobbies of mine.

Probably should stop by and see the new site.

Haha, you keeping asking about it as if I don't already love it. I just finshed my exams and I plan to fall into a coma untilprobably around 2 or 3 in the morning. Maybe then I'll start making quiet noise until something comes out of it. To be honest, I'd love to focus my playing into more math rock regions. Hearing the confindence of players going straight into an amp with not even a touch of reverb is a wonderful thought to muse over, and I think Clever Girl did that very well.

Free-from jazz is strange to say the least. I do enjoy a few tracks I've encountered while researching it, and the idea of just loose jamming for no reason is quite romantic to me, but I guess some people would disagree. The YouTube comments are quite callous... I don't know why I still read them.

Well, I don't play experimental music. Maye alog the road, I would try something like that.

Anyways, I don't think so, but I'll ask. We don't film very much, so finding film of me playing electric guitar would prove difficult. The kind of music we play is basically a mix of christian rock and latin. Think Hillsong and Juan Luis Guerra.

I think I posted a photo of myself sometime ago. I'm on a phone, so no way I'll dig.

I've herd Pat a few times mainly because the yses the same guitar I have stowed awake. Using those wind instrument sounds on a guitar is pretty funny to me.

Also, isn't jazz moldeable? Improvisable? Like that free jazz thing?

Yes, a fantastic solution considerong the genre of music I play requires plenty of effects and would sound very odd going straight into an amplifier.

Jim, if I could, I probably would. Hell, I've entertained the idea a few times, but that just can't happen because our music is not straight rock or anything. However, I appreciate your efforts to make me a straight rocker (for lack of a better term).

No criticism, I first thought of Simpsons when Boom said that and I think that episode was pretty funny. First time I saw it, I got really confused when Homer started playing

Yeah, sorry, I've been kind of an ass as of late.

That being said, I seriously got confused because I've been doing more research on Fender and the fact that Fender says this:

Two great tonewoods long used by Fender for the majority of its electric guitar bodies. Alder is noted for bright, balanced and resonant tone with pronounced upper midrange, excellent sustain and sharp attack. Strong and more dense, ash is used for select American Standard finishes and is notably resonant and sweet sounding, with clearly chiming highs, defined midrange and strong low end.

Didn't really want to make a whole new thread for something that can be answered fairly quickly. So my case for the Pedaltrain 1 has gone from a bit roughed up to falling apart and being held by superglue and tape. So I tried to find a case from Pedaltrain and...

We do not sell cases as stand alone items, just as a bundle (case, board, velcro, etc). That is the way they are shipped from our factories and doing this helps us keep costs low.

If we sold the cases separately, the cost would effectively be the same amount for an individual case as it is for the bundle.

So, I'm trying to find a new case while trying to keep the old one from falling apart. So far, my only choice is the Mono Pedalboard Tour Case which was supposed to be $170, but apparently Musician's Friend will sell it next month for $140. Well worth the cost, but still a massive amount considering how much money I've spent as of late. Haven't anyone that sells the Pedaltrain 1 case alone. I saw Brady Cases, but I'd need a custom version and that alone would cost more than I care to drop.

Any suggestions, guys?

Also, in case anyone cares to know, there are two problems with my case. First, with the case lying flat and front, the bottom right corner easily pops out. I think a screw broke, but I might be able to get a new one in. The other problem is... catastrophic to say the least. The Previous owner may have dropped something heavy on the back of the case because the wood gave in on one side. I'll think of a way to fix it, but it's quite cumbersome to manage.

When movies/television shows have someone "playing" an instrument and they don't even try to make it look real, like their so stupid, they don't understand how their movements correlate with the noise.

Peculiar? Lux, ALL American Standard Telecasters are made with ash bodies. And you certainly did more than remove a duplicate tag, you categorised it, fixed its name, and gave it a description as if it were a valid item you could submit. You didn't even flag it to begin with, I had to do that right now for you. All American Standard Teles that are duplicates were submitted through the form as duplicates, so no need to worry about it now.

Obviously, they're going to be deleted eventually, but anyone who sees your work will think it's a valid item, and an extra submissions will be a bit of a nuisance. Please, if you see my duplicate tags, take them down if you'd like. But please, don't dress them up like valid items.

Lux, why'd you edit this? That's a duplicate. You're making it worse by making duplicates look pretty.

Quick question, actually. The Gibson ES-335 has com up and I'm wondering whether this "dot" version is basically just the 335 with dot inlay.

I get a shitload of homework too. Plus my professor sees it fit to not teach us everything and make us rely half on the textbook. Also, it's summer classes. Five weeks to learn 16 weeks worth of material.

If I could just attend class and take notes, I wouldn't need to stress in the first place, and I would have played yhrough that amp daily. And yes... Incredibly different. I'm so accustomed to a solid-state, so this is so extremely refreshing to me.

Game of Thrones.... PLEASE?!

I haven't touched it in days... So much homework and IT CALLS TO ME

I have finals next week and I'm stressing out more so than would be ideal. I have played through it a couple times and it never ceases to amaze me how much grit it can take, how much delay and reverb it can take without screeching like a dying animal, how quickly it feedbacks (which in some ways is good because it a feedback I can control), and that when you turn it off, it doesn't just pop but the volumes falls into silence and I think that's the most amazing thing ever.

BUT I CAN'T TOUCH IT BECAUSE EXAAAAMS

How to get this sound? - Post here to get ideas on how your favourite band gets their sound.

POPE!! Man, I thought you died or something! So great to see you back!

Properly noted. It sounds like there's two basses playing. Both sound great, but the treblier one sounds like it can cut steel! Love it.

Dat bass. I'm no bassist, but I'd still like to know how one would achieve that sound.

Lex, there are dozens of guitars under the Gibson Memphis line. It probably is under that line, but that doesn't help at all...

T-Rex Fuel Tank, Zvex Box of Rock, and an Empress Tape Delay. Guitar's probably just a limited run Tele. Most of these blonded teles with humbuckers seem to mostly either be vintage instruments or one of those remakes made by Fender's custom shop, but those are heavy relic'd for 1952. Just use this to submit and add more details in the submission notes (unless someone else comes along and knows the specific model name).

Our sound engineer solved this a long time ago. He has a mixer by a company called PreSonus. So, we all downloaded this app called Qmix - Al. We all get to change the settings on our monitors right on our phones. Saves sooo much time. Kind of annoying though, because I see that the previous guitarist that played before me usually has too much of everything, and I've found myself to usually have just drums, lead vocals, the piano, and a bit of the electric guitar (my own always being loud, though).

We have tonnes of channels. But yes, you are a bit right. The way I see it, if at all possible, perhaps sound engineers could try saving a default preset for ear monitors like how you described? We have that for the Qmix here (awful, though, but that's my opinion, Previous guitarist likes it that way? Fine by me because he plays well).

Marshall CODE Anyone got one yet?

To my ears, it sounds digital. I think you could play this Code next to a real Marshall and be able to tell the difference through audio alone. For me, that makes this item a bust.

Pretty sure a $250 entry-level modelling amplifier is not aimed to compete with an actual Marshall amplifier, let alone a Kemper.

Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar Alpine White

You do realise we don't allow submissions with the colour or year in it, eh? We stopped doing that to clean up all the clutter that same items with different years and colours made. As a result, this needs to be destroyed.

Christ, I'm a whole month late. I already know why Gibsons are expensive, there's no denying value. I meant just the 25.5" scale version which was made with more upgrades over a standard Les Paul. Either way, this sheds quite a bit of light on the subject.
