Spacey/Psychedelic Chords

What's with people in flying whales all of a sudden? I keep seeing them everywhere, and it's quite odd.

Anyways, most of it is swells, and stuff. I'd listen more but I have to go to work. Piece out that arpeggio. Listen carefully, one note at a time. Jim or Boom or someone might help later.

Spacey/Psychedelic Chords

I can't recall what chord this is, but I think it was somethin like Emaj7 that was modified.

E - x A - 7 D - 6 G - 8 B - 0 e - 0

I got this chord from a Death Cab sog, and found a variation of it which was basically a E5 on the D string with the octave being instead a D# rather than E, and the high e string open and played as well. Just been playing around with that and inversion chords like an Am with an open B and e string.

What kind of music are you listening to?

Also, I just want to point that having a good arsenal of chords is great, but just be sure that even te simpler chords still work great. Breathe Pink Floyd is just an Em - A progression with an added suspension on the A. It's all about how you utilise them that matters. But, again, a good arsenal of complex chords is also great.

Anyone Here Watch AudioTree Live?

Ooh, I love Baker's work thus far. Haven't listened to her as often as I wanted to, but I have her Sprained Ankle album. I used to browse KEXP and the like, but Audiotree is where I'm getting most o my new music (next to Spotify).

Bands like Save us from the Archo, Listener, Caspian, This Town Needs Guns, etc, all through AudioTree.

I'm doing some bookwork right now, so I may pop on. You'll recognised me from my profile picture: a white crow.

So... The Symposium. Pop punk. Lot of that going around. Hope they're good.

Oh damn, I was just watchig that band. You know their lead guitarist is Ben Verellen? Pretty cool, and oh my God that drummer is ripped.

Pretty cool band, really wish I could have talked to you, but I cut off after the first song. Had some stuff to do.

The Hello-Thread: Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself 👋

yes, but he DID bother to introduce himself and he DOES play the bass, so.... how's the vox working out?

You know what? At first, I thought "lacking a bit of mids", but spent last night and this morning studying and at some point I plugged in the Swede and wow... A lot better than pluging a Roland in. I'll play more later if I get the chance, but school's suckig out every minute of free time. Just a bit stressed is all, I'll make time... Hopefully

Well, I now have a Vox AC4HW1 with a 30W Reaper speaker inside. Only got a few minutes to try it out, I'll have to wait until Friday to spend some time breaking her in.

New Gear Day

Used to use GuitarTuna a lot, but I found a better alternative. Some new app came up called insTuner. No idea how, but it tracks better than GuitarTuna and shows you the octave range. It's chromatic, free, even has a tone generator which I thought was nice.

Do you always default to just standard orange Dunlop picks, or you actually like those especially?

Which classic amp are YOU?

Did you happen to select the Zep album? I think that's what determines for the Plexi. Still, fantastic album.

The Hello-Thread: Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself 👋

Shit, I'm listening to Your Demons now and it's pretty damn good! Boom is our resident bassist, so he should come along to greet soon. Anyways, if I may, how'd your band start?

What to do here?

It's always nice to find new members posting a new thread on such small matters. It takes a small search around the forum to find this if what you want is help identifying that guitar. Or else, follow Jim's advice because posting a guitar related subject in a general forum is inadvisable. Be sure to introduce yourself if you care to stay! We'd love to hear about you.

Fuzz faces... Maye a mini, not sure whether it was a silicon or germanium that I prefer. Very much noted, thank you.

Jim, I'm wondering what your history of fuzz pedals through that Vox is like. I was just musing over what a fuzz through a bit of an AC4's dirt would sound like.

Anyone bought any new cds or downloaded anything or gowever you get your music?

I REALLY like 1996 Radiohead/2003 Coldplay/2008 Phoenix. Going to give this a listen this morning for sure.

Wow, haven't listened to Wolfgang or Rush of Blood in forever... Welp, I got time. Might as well give them a second listen.

Apparently AudioTree's live performances are even more amazing when purshased. For some reason, I only expected the music, was surprised when I got interviews as well.

I purchased one for This Town Needs Guns and Caspian. I'm a very happy person right now.

Quintessential Indie/Alternative Rock Setup

You know, I really liked what Paul and his lot did with Interpol. It really has a nice, kind of odd stripped but covered feeling of different effects going around, but it's never too overwhelming.

I'm still trying to figure out the alternative genres and such, I'm still quite in the dark about that stuff. But for sure, a Jazzmaster, probably the American Vintage version but like the one Robert Ackroyd has. There's something about shell pink that just looks so lovely.

An archtop? Good for him! I was goin to say I can probably pay around 1500 hours or later, but perhaps I'll wait for your shippig quote? That way, I'll just pay for the amp and shipping together (unless you want the $500 as soon as possible, and shipping a few days late).

I suppose my email didn't go through?

Jim, I did hear the difference. I just didn't understand what you meant by 2D. I was going to say what you said, but I wanted to be sure.

For the record, I've listened to Aphex before. There was sone waves track or something he made that I found some time ago on this album with a number list for song names. If I could, I'd research it, but I my phone already froze once... I don't want to push it anymore.

Oh, I see. That's why that Aphex Twin track sounded so different from Trente. It still doesn't change my opinion of Trente on how I feel about his music, but I guess I have one new criteria to wath out for when explorig electronic music.

A bit callous though, Jim. I'm open to learning as much as everyone else here.

I'll shoot you an email shortly and we can exchange all the personal details en masse. You'll have to excuse me, though. I still have no iterne since my dad fired our "guy" or whatever. I'll have to work our transaction in a library.

But hey! You get a Tweed Pro, I get a Vox AC4! We'll soon be very happy!

For the price, that does look and sound the part of a well-made budget guitar. Looks like one of those types you find few and far between that outpace its price tag.

Your musician pet peeves

Okay, okay. Let us present ourselves in a situation in which I do have the money to procure a standard Les Paul. Good for me, eh? I just don't see why Gibson would make a long scale concept and turn it into a much more "boutique" guitar than it already is.
