"My main guitar is a ‘72 Gibson SG. I’m really comfortable with the neck, and I perform the best on that guitar in the studio. So when I want a different tone, it’s usually a matter of changing the amp around, or plugging in a different pedal. Sometimes, we’ll crank up a Fender Champ or an old Ampeg for natural amp distortion. I’ll also use my main stage amp—a Vox AC30." - Carrie Brownstein.

"My go-to guitar is: a custom model by Reuben Cox, who owns Old Style Guitar Shop, in L.A. It looks like a semi-hollow-body Stratocaster, and it’s really lightweight. I will take two of those on tour, as well as something with big vibrato on it." - Carrie Brownstein.
In this photo, Carrie can be seen playing a Gibson SG. And in this article, she says, "Something with the SG, like there’s two devil horns coming out. It’s a demon guitar. Angus Young, Pete Townshend…
“I liked the angularity of it and the bluntness of it, I felt like, that was sort of my style of playing and I’ve tried other guitars, but I just like the sound. I like a guitar that has a little bit of growliness to it – one that feels like the harder you play, it will react to that.”
