The live setup of Deadmau5 frequently changes and evolves. Many of the photos we have seen from 2010 show him using an Allen & Heath Xone:4D Controller.

When asked about the mixer he uses in his live sets, Deadmau5 tweets "sometimes its a pioneer djm900 - nexus, other times its just Native Instruments controllers."

For a vast amount of Deadmau5's live performance in his YouTube video, he uses a Xone DB4 mixer to mix his set. There are four visible columns (one per deck), and the screen on the side distinguishes this mixer as a DB* model of Xone mixer.

In this picture on Twitter, the brand new controller is seen unboxed and on a table with the picture being captioned "Looks like my crappy DJM mixer woes are over... Thank you @NI_News :)"

At one point the Pioneer EFX-1000 was part of Deadmau5' live show.

A more recent Deadmau5 live gear setup includes two of these Native Instruments X1 controllers.

In this Tweet posted by Deadmau5 on Apr 6 2016, he can be seen with a pair of Pioneer CDJ NEXUS 2000 NXS2 players. The model number is written on the the bottom right of the players, which matches that of the CDJ-2000NXS2. He says, "Bout to get some practice time in...."

Starting at 0:20, deadmau5 is using a Holodesk, using it to play samples, and also as a mixer for "Arguru". He uses it in his studio, and has used it live at Earl's Court.

In this video posted by Deadmau5, he gives a quick demo of him using a 55" Microsoft Perceptive Pixel touch-screen to create controllers to be used in his live sets. He captions the video, "Thanks to our partners over at microsoft and their PPI team, our team were able to make some pretty righteous touch software that drives the OSC / Midi to... other ... stuff. ;) ... its still early in development, but were making great progress. Heres a quick demo!"

In the YouTube video "Deadmau5 - Full Set Live From BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend" by Mixing Alin, Deadmau5 is seen wearing his iconic helmet, a staple of his DJ performances.

Deadmau5 uploaded an image demonstrating the new Cube setup for Creamfields 2019. Reposted by Ritchie Hawtin and added to Deadmau5' story is an image including the Playdifferently Model 1.

He uses it as a DJ controller from time to time.
