Johnny Depp's Gear
In this photo, we can see Johnny Depp playing a 1956 Fender Telecaster electric guitar in a vintage white (or cream) finish, with a black pickguard.
In an interview with Vanity Fair from November 2004, Depp talks about this Tele, and confirms its year:
"Depp harks back to lessons he learned when he was prowling rock-club stages with his beloved Fender Telecaster—classic ’56 model, cream-colored—on his hip. “As a guitarist, I would always look for whatever felt right, something tasteful—and I guess I still do.” He still owns that same Telecaster and remains “more interested in finding what fits the piece musically as opposed to how many notes I can play quickly. I was never one of those ‘look at me’ players.”"
The full interview can be found here.

While performing at the January 24, 2015 NAMM Imperial Ball in Anaheim, CA, Johnny was spotted with yet another Duesenberg guitar in addition to the Johnny Depp Signature that was introduced at last year's NAMM show. This guitar also features several of Johnny's tattoos on its woodgrain body, as well as the lightening bolt. hearts and 3 symbols on the neck. It also features his tattooed phrase Silence Exile Cunning on a pick guard. Chris Distin from Duesenberg confirms that this is a unique guitar built just for Johnny and given to him at Christmas of 2014. "It features a "Wooden Fence" optic, with Johnnys Tattoos lasered onto the surface, to give a "branding" effect. The hardware is aged and the Pickguard and Pickup frame are American Leather with Johnnys Tattoo "Silence Exile Cunning" Hand embossed into the pick-guard. The Optic means we have made it look something like an old wooden fence made of old weathered wooden boards, but of course it is made of wood, Mahogany and Ash to be specific." What a gorgeous piece of art!
Johnny also played this guitar at all three Hollywood Vampires shows in September of 2015
