Mike Vennart's Effects Pedals
In an interview with MusicRadar, Mike Vennart mentions using the Danelectro DD-1 Fab Tone Distortion pedal, humorously describing it as his choice "for when I just want to kill everyone," highlighting its intense sound.
At 2:30 into the video, Mike says he uses a "standard RAT for the horrible, fuzzy sort of stuff".
A TU-2 can be seen on Mike's pedalboard at 1:58 into the video.
A POG2 can be seen as the pedal on the far right of the top row on Mike's pedal board.
Mike's signature pedal. Originally issued as a very-limited edition AccessPass on the PledgeMusic page for Vennart's debut solo album The Demon Joke. It was described on the site as "2 of the greatest fuzzes on earth, in one box". Vennart elaborated on this further in his interview with Total Guitar: "You've got the [Lovetone] Big Cheese on one side with four different settings of fuzz. I use that a lot for broken-up, Velcro-y shitty-sounding stuff. And then the other side is the IC Big Muff; it's got a switch on it that takes the tone control out so it just gets more woolly but really, really fat."
In a Facebook post by Green Carrot Pedals, Mike Vennart describes the Dwarfcraft Shiva Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal as "volatile" and "horrible," perfect for creating "My Bloody Valentine atonal nonsense."
An Echo Dream 2 can be seen to the left of the POG2 on the top row of Mike's pedalboard in this Facebook picture posted by Green Carrot Pedals.
"The Whammy Wah is like an old 90s pedal. I bought a couple of these because they keep breaking; I think they're just made for the studio, really, [...] the whammy effect is something that I use an awful lot just for texture and when [I'm] using a lot of delay and other stuff and it sounds really tasty. It's got some other stuff on there like auto-wahs and filters and stuff like that."
"I'm using it in place of a Whammy; the Whammy was taking up too much space. That's the main sound on 'Infatuate'."
This can be seen in this picture, in the top right hand corner of Mike's pedalboard.
At 3:15 into the video, Mike discusses the Line 6 FM4 Filter Modeler, saying "I use that for, like synth sounds and horrible swells and string pads and stuff like that. There's a lot in it, but most of it's pretty tasteless, so you have to use it quite sparingly".
Mike Vennart praises the Green Carrot Pedals Cornstarch Overdrive Pedal, describing it as "just deadly" with a "really clear, amp-style distortion," as noted in a post by Green Carrot Pedals on Facebook.
Mike Vennart uses the Green Carrot Pedals Dirty Radish for a touch of overdrive, as mentioned in a Facebook post by Green Carrot Pedals.
"In addition Mike uses 3 Boss delay pedals: A DD-3 Digital delay marked 'Space', a DD-6 and an old school analog DM-2"
