“I’ve just picked up another of the BOSS “WAZA craft” pedals to use in pre-production. It’s basically its a remake of my classic DM-2 analogue delay that was part of my original set up in the early 1980s. Again those clever fellas at BOSS have kept all the features of the original but now has the familiar to waza “better” switch which in this case keeps the warmer sound of analogue but has a longer delay time more like a DM-3 and that family of digital delays… ergo… better!! I will definitely be using one of these in my live rig very soon.” Billy – March 2015more
> On the “Death of a Bachelor” tour, Panic! at the Disco guitarist Kenneth Harris used lots BOSS stompboxes on his pedalboard, including the SD-1W Super Overdrive, DM-2W Delay, DD-500 Delay, PH-3 Phase Shifter, and OC-3 Super Octave. He also added the SY-300 guitar synth for improv sections during the band’s headlining shows.more
> So here’s the board for these upcoming @theundergroundthieves shows supporting @thestruts. Simple, and deadly. 5 effects and a tuner. Special thanks to David Phillips of @lasounddesign for consulting with me and helping me achieve my best bypass tone to date using one of his incredible PI-01 buffer interfaces. When I say bypass tone I mean all pedals off - that sound - is more important to me then what the pedals do when they’re on, as 90% of my show is my guitar and amp only. The PI-01 totally changed the sound of the board and made up for the change in tone by the DM-2w, which I do love when it’s on - when it’s off, not so much. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Peace ??more
Ever since being discontinued way back in 1984, the BOSS DM-2 Delay pedal has remained highly sought after by players everywhere for its warm, "bucket brigade" analog delay tone. Now, the DM is back! With the Waza Craft DM-2W, the coveted stomp has been reborn with switchable sound modes and greater versatility for today's music styles. Using 100-percent analog circuitry, the DM-2W's Standard mode nails the lush sound and 20-300 ms delay range of the original DM-2. Flipping into Custom mode instantly changes the sound character to a cleaner analog tone with over twice the available delay time. Since the beginning, the engineers at BOSS have been committed to achieving the finest guitar tones using any technology necessary, from old-school analog circuits to high-tech DSP. Continuing this enthusiastic spirit, we are pleased to introduce the new Waza Craft series. In Japan, "Waza" is the term for art and technique, and these special edition pedals proudly carry the Waza symbol to represent the pinnacle of BOSS design and craftsmanship. With final sound approval carried out by BOSS in Japan, the Waza Craft series brings you exceptional tone and touch response through carefully-selected analog components, refined circuitry, and meticulous attention to detail. A custom-designed version of the highly sought-after DM-2 Delay from Waza Craft and BOSS.
If this is the sound you're after in your analog delays, you'd do very well to stop your search here. More delay time than the classic models, much easier to find, and incredibly easy to set up. The way the repeats get crunchier as they fade out is the stuff of legend, and you get a texture off of this pedal that you just don't get from anything else. The addition of expression pedal control is also a brilliant move by Boss, and lends the pedal even better to the noisey shoegaze stuff it's so beloved for.
Shouldn't have sold mine. You really can't find anything like it. I'm selling my DD-500 and going back to 3 or 4 delay units dedicated to specific sounds, and this one's on the list.
The whizzes at WAZA Craft did right by the world bring this beauty back into production. Pricey, but worth it. Best analog on the market if you ask me.
A beautiful atmospheric sound that traps you every note you play with it. Totally in love with my waza combo (DM-2W & CE-2W) and this delay makes every riff/solo feel more powerful
