Zachary Cole Smith's Gear
Zachary Cole Smith of DIIV uses the EarthQuaker Devices Gray Channel overdrive pedal during the Deceiver tour. The pedalboard, designed and delivered by PEDALpunk, is featured on Instagram, highlighting its role in their live setup.

Zachary has been playing this Fender Blacktop Jaguar ever since he started his project DIIV, as can see in his live perfomances, the appearance of the guitar already shows that it has been used a lot. It has a peeling in white, losing the original colour (black) of the guitar. In the white part it has a "HI" written in black adhesive tape, and in the black part it has a "DARLING" written in white adhesive tape.
You can see Cole using this pedal in this picture, in the right corner, beside the Boss Delay DD-3.

Used for the DIIV European tour 2015 before the release of DIIV's second album, 'Is The Is Are'. Cole here in the photo and the video uses a Black Fender Cyclone HH with a sticker in white with black text reading, "Grinning."
Cole has continued to use this guitar both live and in the studio. As a result of touring and recording, the guitar has been adorned with new stickers, paint chips, and has had various volume and tone knobs over the years. The control plate is frequently held down by tape.

Smith can be seen here playing an Epiphone Wilshire worn reissue is dark gray. The headstock was broken off on July 10th, 2013, according to Smith's Instagram account. This guitar was used in a lot of DIIV's earlier shows, notably 2013's Cochella.
