HH Electronics (now trading as HH Audio) is a British audio manufacturer founded in 1968 by electronic engineer Mike Harrison, alongside Malcolm Green and Graham Lowes, in Harston near Cambridge, England. The company made its name in the late 1960s and early 1970s with its solid-state TPA and MA range of studio-quality amplifiers, which were adopted by nearly every TV studio in the UK. In 1970 the BBC issued strict requirements for a new broadcast amplifier, and HH responded with the AM 8/12, which went on to become a global standard for broadcast corporations.
The brand became well known in the music instrument world through products like the IC-100 combo, recognisable for its distinctive green electro-luminescent front panel, and the MOSFET-based V series introduced in 1979, which delivered higher output power with low distortion. Through the 1970s HH gear was used on stage by acts including T. Rex, Pink Floyd, The Sweet and 10cc during the era's live-sound boom, and the company expanded into a full PA range covering mixers, power amplifiers, speaker systems and digital effects.
After changes of ownership in the 1980s, the brand passed to the Headstock Group — the owners of Laney Amplification — and is now based in Halesowen, West Midlands. Under the HH Audio name the company focuses on commercial, professional and portable sound reinforcement, with product families such as Tensor, Vector, Royal and Prince covering powered and passive loudspeakers, stage monitors, amplifiers and signal processors.
