Buckethead's Gear
Buckethead prominently used the Gibson Buckethead Signature Les Paul Electric Guitar as his main instrument during his 2009 tour. In a performance captured on YouTube by Bill, titled "Buckethead - One of the best, most emotional versions of Soothsayer Live @ Gothic 9-28-2012," he can be seen playing this guitar model. Notably, the Signature version features a gloss finish with binding and an ebony fretboard, although later models transitioned to richlite due to a wood supply issue. This contrasts with the Studio version, which has a satin finish, no binding, and a baked maple fretboard. Both versions share identical electronics and pickups.
Buckethead is seen wearing a rare, blank white Cesar mask, known as the "White Mask," in a Wikimedia image. This mask is an integral part of his stage persona, contributing to the enigmatic backstory of his character.
Buckethead can be seen playing it at 0:49. This is his backup guitar for when there's a problem with his signature Les Paul.

In a live performance video from May 13, 2016, Buckethead is seen using the Gibson Buckethead Les Paul Studio as his main guitar. During the 2016 tour, he opted for this model over his previous signature guitars, which he hadn't used since the 2012 tour. Notably, the Studio version features a satin finish and a baked maple fretboard, unlike the signature model's gloss finish and ebony fretboard. Additionally, due to government restrictions on Gibson's wood supply, some signature models transitioned to richlite fretboards, while the Studio models maintained their original specifications. Both models share the same electronics and pickups.

Buckethead uses this prop from the company "Distortions Unlimited". He named it "Herbie" and has used different variations of this idea. The company have 2 different props like these. Back in the Deli Creep years of the early to mid 90’s buckethead used a midnight blue Heartfield Talon II (one of fenders old companies). Buckethead replaced the stock bridge and neck humbuckers with two pink Dimarzio X2N pickups. Most likely this change was due to the dimarzios being incredibly hot pickups with very high output. They can drive any amp into immediate breakup.
