Best of all worlds when it comes to the Jazz III family!

So I completely forgot that I had some of these picks in my pick melee. I grabbed one as I was trying (yet again) to find "The One Pick" - and I'm glad I did.

It is the best - Ultex tone and durability, slightly bigger form factor allows for easier indexing, and of course, it's black - hard to miss when it gets dropped...unless you're on a pitch black stage, but that's why you have spares!

The JP shield on the grip texturing works pretty well as a tactile point, allowing me to really dig in on a specific part of the pick in order to really hold on. Amazing piece of engineering from Dunlop, and excellent foresight from John Petrucci!

Comfortible, Durible, And They Play Well.

When I first saw these Picks I knew they were going to be great, (Plus the fact that John Petrucci's signature gear is always very playable and ergonomic). I got them and the first thing that stood out was how the tip looked different from the rest of the Pick, the tip was in more of a Gloss Finish wereas the rest of the Pick was in more of a Matte Finish, I'm not sure if it's for durablity or just asthetics but it looks and feels great. First time playing the Pick I was actually a little scared that playing the way I do would ruin such a good looking Pick, but thanks to the Ultex construction, apon playing it showed no signs of wear and I was using these on Bass, I even dragged it across the string and it still didn't wear. The Jazz III profile is comfortible and the JP Shield actually serves as a bit of a grip and the edge is ever so slightly angled so you can get a smoother tone with less "pick-drag".

Overall, I would totally suggest these to a friend.

ONLY GUITAR PICK I WILL USE

I used Dunlop .88 guitar picks almost my entire playing career. I forgot my tin full of picks that I usually throw in my guitar case at home when I went to the studio. When I was at the studio another studio guitarist had some on hand, which he handed me the John Petrucci ones. Ever since that day for the past two years I have bought nothing but these guitar picks. I went to guitar center after that day and bought five packages of them.

A missed opportunity

I think a lot of us would like a jazz iii that was just a little bigger without being the XL size, this should be it, but the polished edge and material leave this feeling and sounding cheap.

I almost exclusively choose picks based on the way they feel in my hand and on the string, these are the only ones I've ever dumped because of the sound.

Awesome

Just bought 2 picks for today. When I test it, it feels great. Especially when I play some metal riffs or chugging, my wrist doesn't really tired. Pinched harmonics easier, too. I think I'll stick with this pick for now!

Perfect size and shape

Why can’t Dunlop make a range of picks in this size and shape. That’s all I want to know.

A Pic To Try

Another of Dunlop's newer signature picks, the Petrucci Jazz III is unlike any Jazz III (or pick, for that matter) that the company has released before. A black pick at 1.5mm thickness, the Petrucci has beveled edges for faster play, and a rougher grip area to achieve stability when holding the pick. Although pretty cool, it's not exactly my cup of tea, but I still have it in my tin of pics and will use it from time to time.

Can't live without this pick

I've probably tried few hundred picks in my life and since I'e started using this one, I can't use anything else. It's just an amazing pick, with awesome grip and awesome feel. I would highly suggest it.
