I now prefer the HD 26 but that's only because of the Body

They sound identical to the HD 26 & I still have the original HD 25's I brought all those years ago & all my clients love them too... I'm surprised they have lasted this long & still work as new

The 1176 is the Best Clean Vocal Compressor you can get for nice control (Ballad Vocal) for that Classic Old School sound or still use on a State of the Art Modern Record

That's why Bruce Swedien always used this on Michael Jackson's Lead Vocals more than any other its also the exact model they seek out when its a classic ballad for a Celine Dion or Mariah Carey

The First A Revision (Blue Stripe) excels at Dirty Bass or Vintage Vocal etc - Black Version best all round but this last rarest model is the cleanest Sweetest of them all & can still hold its own an the Cleanest Modern Record & Not Sound Dated (Compressor OFF or less than -3dB of Compression GR)...
