Good for more than kick.

I'm not sure what the difference between the D12 and D12e is apart from the the 12e being the 80s version of the 12. This mic can take a licking. It has extended bass response and high spl handling suitable for internal kick drum placement but it's also a great mic for toms, horns, guitar and bass cabinets. It sounds like it rolls off around 15k like a lot of the old akg dynamic capsules, but that's fine for a lot of applications.
