Great first bass or practice bass...
I was not expecting to like this bass, to be honest. Went to the store looking for a Squier bass, and after trying a few basses I could not believe how much better the Toby was compared to all other basses at the same price range and even a few that were $100-$200 more expensive. Also, the neck on this bass is so comfortable, and it's not as thick as the others at this price range. Would maybe upgrade the pickups later, but for the kind of sound I record with it, it does the job (I add some drive and EQ it a bit, get some good results!)
