Bose PAS Model II Review

acousticfingerstyle.com

The Bose L1 Model II System impresses with its innovative design and portability, delivering consistent, clear sound across various venues. The inclusion of the B1 Bass Module and T1 ToneMatch audio engine provides full-spectrum amplification and versatile sound customization. However, some users may find the system's reliance on digital presets limiting, and its premium price point may deter budget-conscious musicians. Overall, the L1 Model II offers a compelling package for those prioritizing ease of use and sound consistency, but it might not fit all needs or budgets.

One of the all-time great sounding systems...

I have used the Bose T1 ToneMatch mixer with the Bose L1 (Model 1S with the B1 Bass Module) regularly starting around two years ago for an on-stage monitor mix for clubs that have over 50 people (with Bose 802's for FOH), For shows in smaller venues that hold less than 50 people, I sometimes use just the L1 to cover the audience with my vocals and keyboards. The sound is spectacular. I wish Bose would rate the wattage so I can compare it to my other systems, but I can say it is not as loud as 450 watt into 4 ohms out of each channel of my stereo powered Mackie 808S mixer.

Great sound, Lightweight

Sounds great for small shows (<300). I use 2x B1 Bass speakers for more robust lows. The Tone Match Audio Engine is great for small setups. I bypass it if I'm using a larger mixer, such as my Behringer X32. I just send a stereo XLR out to the 1/4" input and I'm good.
