X-11 Review: Definitely not recommended for folks who are just starting; unless you... | Cort | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Cort X-11 comes with attractive features and a budget-friendly price, boasting a Floyd Rose tremolo and a modern neck. However, the stock Alnico V EMG pickups are a letdown, producing a nasal sound lacking mids and crunch, unsuitable for metal without modification. The guitar's wiring is poorly executed, leading to hissing and requiring pickup upgrades to unlock its potential. While the finish is impressive and durable, the initial setup and soldering are subpar. Overall, the X-11 demands technical know-how to shine, making it a risky choice for beginners.
