Description

The Engl Steve Morse Signature Model is designed for guitarists seeking a powerful and versatile amplification experience. Crafted in collaboration with Steve Morse of Deep Purple, this amp head delivers a robust 100 watts of power, ensuring your sound is heard loud and clear on any stage. With 3 distinct channels, this amplifier caters to a variety of tonal preferences, from clean, crisp highs to deep, resonant lows.

The preamp section is driven by four ECC83 (12AX7) tubes, while the power amp employs four EL34 tubes, providing a classic tube-driven sound that is both warm and dynamic. The inclusion of the Engl MID Control Matrix, offering 8 midrange voicings, allows for unparalleled tonal flexibility, letting you dial in the precise sound you're searching for.

Each channel features separate gain and volume controls, along with a 3-band EQ for channels 1 and 2, enabling precise tonal sculpting. The built-in noise gate ensures your sound remains clean and free from unwanted noise, even at high gain settings. Two parallel FX loops accessible via MIDI and multiple speaker outputs enhance connectivity, making this head a versatile addition to any setup.

In this interview, Marty Friedman says he uses Engl amps, including the Engl Steve Morse Signature Model.

"'What amps were you running?'

'Engl amps. They send me five or six amps, I switch from one to the other, and they all sound good. An important thing when switching amps is, if you’re the same guy playing rhythms and leads, you don’t necessarily want to go through the same amp, because the tones tend to blend. But within only one Engl amp, you can get a great variety of sounds. I used the Steve Morse signature for the majority of the solos and then a Powerball on some stuff.'"
