Description

The Epoch Modular Benjolin is a fascinating addition to any modular synthesizer setup, offering a unique blend of chaotic sound generation and rhythmic exploration. Designed by the legendary Rob Hordijk, this module stands out with its dual analog oscillators that are masterfully cross-modulated to create complex waveforms. At the heart of its operation is a pseudo-random shift register, which injects an element of unpredictability, ideal for experimental soundscapes.

This module isn't just about unpredictability, though. It also provides a voltage-controlled filter, which allows you to sculpt your sound with precision, adding depth and texture to your sonic explorations. The Benjolin’s intuitive interface makes it accessible for both seasoned synthesists and adventurous newcomers eager to dive into the world of modular synthesis.

With its ability to produce anything from subtle audio textures to wild, evolving sequences, the Benjolin is a versatile tool that can be used for both live performances and studio compositions. Whether you're crafting ambient soundscapes or driving rhythmic patterns, the Benjolin offers a wealth of creative potential.

Key Features:

  • Dual analog oscillators with cross-modulation
  • Pseudo-random shift register for unpredictable modulation
  • Voltage-controlled filter for sound shaping
  • Intuitive interface suitable for all levels of experience
  • Ideal for experimental soundscapes and evolving sequences

Well on “Synthetic Metals” specifically the kicks are the blue lantern asteroid BD v4 and Tiptop BD808, the main snare I made from the epoch Benjolin and then the metal clank snare that comes in later on is the Noise Engineering Basimilus Iterus.
