Quick Hit: Fender Rumble Studio 40 Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Fender Rumble Studio 40 impresses as a feature-rich practice amp for bassists, boasting a wealth of presets, effects, models, and connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Its lightweight build and versatile sound make it ideal for both practice and small gigs. While the extensive options can lead to distraction, this amp is a great tool for modern players seeking diverse tones and connectivity at an attractive price. However, the lack of an external speaker output is a minor drawback. Overall, it’s a commendable package for the tech-savvy bassist.

Solid amp as long as software support continues

This amp is very light, very versatile and sounds great. The app is fairly intuitive and connects well to the amp- as long as they continue supporting this software, it'll be a great tool for trying new setups, effects, pedals, etc. You can get a fair bit of low end from this amp, too. Not enough for a full gig, but enough for small rehearsals or PA'd up venues.

The best part for me is the number of inputs and outputs all over this thing. You can hook it up to basically anything!

Preferred Settings + Usage:

I like the British Watts preset the most, coupled with a blues driver for some added grit.

Great first bass amp

It was my first bass amp. I would play for about 2hrs a day, and I would plug in my headphones and use the Aux to play along to my favorite tracks. It was a great amp for what I needed at the time.
