Perfect amp for beginners and good for advanced players
This amp is perfect for beginners - it can easily be used at home at low volumes, and it also has a headphone out for late night practice.
Most of the amp modeling has been done pretty well. I wasn’t able to test it against the real amps, but I have tested the tube screamer and big muff, and they sound exactly the same as the real thing! I was amazed! I don’t like some amp models and presets, mostly high gain ones, but there are so many other amp models to choose from, it’s really not a problem. They definitely spent more time working on modeling for fender amps, but most other brands are just as good.
As I said, for a beginner, this is a perfect first amp, because it’s an amazing tool to learn about different amps, pedals, and signal chain, so when you buy a first “serious” amp, you’ll know more or less what you’re looking for. There are some PDFs that will help you make the most out of it, explaining exactly which models correspond to which amps, pedals and cabinets.
Even for an intermediate or advanced player I think it’s a great amp to try different effects and easily experiment with signal chain, and it’s a lot better for home practice than a 100 watt Marshall.
Looper is a great feature but it requires a foot switch. I had some problems with the foot switch, but I still recommend buying it.
In the digital/modeling amp category (boss katana, Marshall code, Yamaha thr, etc) I personally find this one to be the best overall. I tried the boss katana and Marshall code, and considered buying Yamaha thr because it looks amazing, but I’m glad I got this one. It sounds good, looks good, and the biggest selling point compared to the other amps in the category - it will help you learn a lot about guitar gear.
Oh, I also use it as a Bluetooth speaker because it has hi-fi speakers. It’s not for an audiophile, but the sound quality is pretty good!

The Flavor Du Jour
The Times are a changing. In the past few years we have seen an explosion of practice amps the are more or less pedal boards with a speaker and some amplification. Each one has their niche but the Fender GT Series has taken all that tech an rolled it into one amp.
• No need for a wired connection to a computer with weak a$$ software. Updates Wi-Fi and controlled and edited via Bluetooth. Easy peasy to edit via phone or rearrange settings order. • The ability to place fx anywhere in the chain is a solid winner and that you can stack same type of fx.
The modeling has a very amp like feel to it. Takes external pedals well and reacts to picking dynamics but doesn't sound like a amp even with the update it sounds like a heavy blanket has been put over the amp to give it a muffled sound.
For a practice amp it is ideal as a performing or recording amp look else where.

A great 2nd amp
Bought this as an upgrade from my first practice amp and it sent me down the slippery slope of fx pedals. Ideal for bedroom practicing and exploring tone, this amp provides the perfect platform for learning about what amps, pedals and sounds are out there, if your willing to put a bit of time in to perfect them. Super easy to set up, adjust and use. The in build tuner is a godsend and the bluetooth connectivity is awesome. I'd also throughly recommend using the Fender Tone app for even more functionality.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Personal favourite set up is running two delays (one on ¼ note and one on dotted ⅛ notes) into an amp for chill shimmery goodness.

AMP in 2018
It's a digital interface with the soul of a vintage fender amp. it's an AMP with the APP on the iPad. It sounds great for home use...
many brands tried this, but I think this is the best one for this price range.

Excellent Modeling/Combo Amp
This amp is great for presets, and it doesn't hum or anything like that. It's very durable and I absolutely love this Amp.
