The beloved Strat of my Strat-hating self

Type of musician: I play guitar in one of my bands as well as for solo stuff/random collabs with friends if its needed

Ok, so I'm not a strat guy, like, at all. I'm really not a big fan of Strats and I don't honestly know why. I bought this because I needed that strat neck pickup sound for a song I was working on for a friend and neither of had a guitar that could do it. It was $200 dollars off Facebook marketplace. A full setup and some custom modifications later and I am absolutely in love. The neck is perfect, I don't know what it is about it but I absolutely love it, and the middle pickup is just like so sexy sounding (I am biased as I love the middle pickup sound in general, but this one is so good). I replaced the neck and bridge pickups with Seymour Duncans and left the original middle pickup in there.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Middle pickup!!! Middle bridge for hot sounds, middle neck for softer sounds.

Great modding platform if you get the right one

These guitars vary a lot depending on which version you get. I've modded mine with an HSS pickguard and installed two switches (one to put the neck and middle in series, and one to engage the bridge at all times). Great guitar if you take the time to set it up right.

Pretty solidly made for the price!

I mean, you aren’t paying for any custom shop strat, but I don’t feel bad for hacking it up and throwing whatever in it. It’s a great first guitar and a great project!

Starter Guitar

You can get some unique tones out of this, but overall, it's a starter guitar. You're better off with the bullet strat by Squier. Honestly, it does sound like a strat. But yeah. If you might be looking to get into guitar. Get this. So that if it turns out you don't like the guitar, than you didn't waste very much money, or you can sell it to someone who might actually get into the guitar.

It was a good guitar I got off craigslist

"This is a Fender Stratocaster copy (Not licensed, approved, or even associated with the Fender company) It may look like a Fender instrument, but it certainly doesn’t play or sound like one. Like most copies, they are severely lacking and simply provide you with a cheaper quality guitar for a lower price. Like with any instrument, some may turn out better than others, but the bottom line is that you get what you pay for."
