These amplifiers were custom-made for Matt and Al Cisneros during the recording of "Jerusalem" or "Dopesmoker," funded by an advance from their record label. However, the reasons for their discontinued use remain unknown.

In an interview with The Sleeping Shaman, Poia, guitarist and keyboardist of Ufomammut, confirms the use of his Green Matamp head and cab. Poia mentions that his interest in Matamp amplifiers was sparked after seeing one in a Sleep video, leading him to acquire a Matamp head as a form of payment for design work he and his art department, Malleus, completed for Joe Wheeler of Matamp USA.
