Description
The Vintage 7660 Chet Atkins Nashville 1973 by Gretsch
The Gretsch 7660 Chet Atkins Nashville is a classic American-made hollow-body electric from the Baldwin-era Gretsch lineup, introduced after the model was renumbered from the earlier 6120 series. The 1973 version is notable for reintroducing real open f-holes, replacing the painted f-holes used in earlier late-60s/early-70s versions. Built with a laminated maple body and neck, it delivers the bright, resonant “Gretsch twang” associated with country, rockabilly, and early rock styles. Its dual Filter’Tron pickups and complex control layout provide a wide tonal range, from warm jazz tones to sharp, articulate lead sounds. The guitar also features a Bigsby vibrato system and Gretsch’s internal sound post design to help reduce feedback in a fully hollow body.
