Lightweight and powerful!
I don't have anything negative to say about this bass. I've had mine for about 6 years and its amazing! The B string always caught the attention of other people listening to it. Even in passive mode, it still sounds great!

Wanted a cost-effective 5 string, got much more
These basses are an incredible value. A 5 string with a graphite reinforced neck, PLEK job, and a Bartolini electronics package for under $900 is fairly incredible. I have the vintage white with a maple board. I'm not a fan of the the aesthetics, so I ordered a pickguard and chrome knobs to dress it up. I also plan to replace the Bartolini electronics with Aguilar, but am in no rush to do so. It sounds good as-is.
Artist usage

MonoNeon has been seen playing at least two different Lakland Skyline 55-01 basses in press photos, on Instagram, and in live shows with bands like Ghost-Note. Mono plays his right handed basses upside down and frets with his right hand, similar to Jimi Hendrix played guitar. He also adorns his instruments in neon tape, in the Dadaist fashion.
