Features and functionality

  • The Otto Filter's BP mode delivers a classic auto wah sound that pairs well with distortion, while TF mode mimics a talking guitar effect best with clean tones.

Comparisons

  • The LP mode of the Otto Filter is likened to the punchy Digitech Bass Synth Wah, especially effective with added distortion.

    Source
  • The EHX Blurst was noted to resemble the Line 6 Tap Tremolo, contributing to decisions against keeping the Blurst.

    Source

Build quality

  • These pedals are constructed from two different metals; the heavier variant feels significantly robust, akin to a brick, and is taller than standard pedals when laid flat.

User experience

  • Some users find the footswitch jiggly due to a metal pin, potentially affecting refurbished units more noticeably.

PERTY GOOD

Got this to have a Jerry-esque tone, and it can definitely achieve one that is the best you can get for the price. It does take a lot of tweaking and has a lot of unusable sounds, but once you know what sounds good, you're set.

jimmarchi1

that's basically all filters for guitar, even an original Mu-tron, the holy grail of envelope fillers, can be set to sound pretty wonky. Sure it has the Fame sound and lots of others you will recognize but you can spend all day mining those settings out of it meanwhile you might be perforating your eardrums with horrible noises LOL
