Review: Mitchell Guitars HD400 and TD400 | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

Mitchell's HD400 and TD400 guitars offer impressive quality and performance at an affordable price. The HD400 is a modern "super Strat" with high-output humbuckers and a sleek design, while the TD400 offers classic tones with a versatile pickup configuration. Both models boast excellent craftsmanship, comfort, and playability, making them suitable for beginners and seasoned players alike. Despite their budget-friendly price, these guitars deliver sound and features comparable to much more expensive models. A fantastic value for anyone seeking high-quality construction and professional-grade performance.

Great Guitar for the Price

Being a teenager without a steady source of income, I didn't really have an option to splurge on a fancier Fender or Gibson, so I opted for the Mitchell. All the reviews looked good and it was just at the top of my budget. For the price, it's an astounding guitar. The pickup combination and the 5-way switch all make for endless tone possibilities that are amazing for a guitarist still searching for their sound. The build quality is good and the guitar as a whole feels nice to play, especially since it has a very thin neck. My only complaint with the sound are the ceramic pickups. Depending on your style of music, these may be great for you, but for me they're not the best pickups that probably could have been chosen for the price.
