Modartt Pianoteq 5 Review - MusicTech

Modartt's Pianoteq 5 impresses with its tiny 40MB footprint and authentic, customizable piano sounds, making it ideal for laptop musicians. Its real-time physical modeling offers a dynamic playing experience, and the expanded mic section adds versatility. While the interface is intricate for deeper adjustments, entry-level users can still enjoy quality sound. Overall, Pianoteq 5 is a space-saving gem for those seeking realism without the bulk.

Modartt Pianoteq 5 Pro review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Pianoteq 5 by Modartt takes a significant leap forward with its refined sound quality, offering a clearer and more natural piano experience. The software impresses with its extensive microphone options and customizable purchase options, making it a versatile choice for both traditional and experimental sounds. However, while it boasts no bulky storage requirements due to its physical modeling approach, some may still find the realism lacking compared to sample-based alternatives. The Pro version's price is a considerable investment, and a MIDI controller is essential for full potential. Overall, a compelling choice for pianists seeking innovation without compromise.

Extremely usable

Was a little sketch because it's not really modeled off a real piano. However, I love the CPU efficiency of this plug-in (unlike Kontakt) and the customization options (I have the standard edition right now; can't imagine what messing with overtones and stuff would be like). So yeah... while the default sound isn't mind-blowing (sounds like a piano), you can get some mind-blowing sounds going really quick... =)
