MOTU Digital Performer 8

soundonsound.com

MOTU Digital Performer 8 makes a solid Windows debut, offering a sophisticated music production environment with robust MIDI and audio features. The addition of VST support is a game-changer, and new plug-ins bring strong effects to the table. However, the bundled virtual instruments remain lackluster compared to competitors. Some minor technical issues on Windows don't overshadow its vast capabilities, making it a compelling choice for PC users seeking a comprehensive DAW. Existing users will find enough enhancements to justify an upgrade, but new users should brace for a learning curve. Overall, DP8 is a powerful, flexible option worth considering.

MOTU Digital Performer 8 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

MOTU Digital Performer 8 gets a thumbs-up for its robust production suite, making it a strong contender in the DAW market. The addition of a Windows version, coupled with 64-bit support and a customizable interface, broadens its appeal. Guitarists will appreciate the new plugins, and video support surpasses its predecessor. However, it falters with a lack of a decent soundbank and the need for separate MIDI and audio tracks for instruments. Despite this, its flexibility and power make it a worthwhile investment, especially for those seeking a high-end DAW experience.

MOTU Digital Performer 8 - Review 2013 - PCMag Australia

pcmag.com

MOTU Digital Performer 8 shines as a powerful tool for MIDI composition and film scoring, with robust audio-editing capabilities. Its transition to 64-bit enhances performance, and the intuitive UI is a joy for Mac users. The standout is its Melodyne-like pitch correction, a boon for vocal tracks. However, its instrument plug-in bundle is underwhelming, which could be a letdown for some. Despite this, its lack of hardware-based copy protection and seamless integration across devices make it a top contender in the DAW landscape. For those focused on composition and scoring, it's an impressive choice.

Great software

A bit steep learning curve, and missing features here and there, but the greatest quantizing engine and great extra capabilities. Though i use this software the least. Nevertheless, great.
